The port of Gdansk has been named as one of the fastest growing ports in Europe in a new report published by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). It was identified as being one of the global ports enjoying fast growth alongside ports in China and the Far East.

The report, which can be downloaded in PDF form here, is based on a number of case-studies of ports globally and aims to identify how ports can once again become economic drivers for their cities as well as neighbouring regions where the benefits often spill over to. 

The report showed that Gdansk was bucking the trend of many ports worldwide.
