The Chmielno Municipality is the smallest municipality in Kartuzy County. Almost its entire area lies within the boundaries of the Kashubian Landscape Park. Its main assets are its beautiful, picturesque landscapes, thanks to which it has been recognized as the most attractive destination in the region.

Tourism is developing intensively here, fostered by attractive cycling routes that lead through the municipality's most interesting villages. Fans of active recreation and water sports have beautiful areas at their disposal, offering opportunities for sailing, kayaking, and windsurfing. The clean lakes and peaceful surroundings also attract many anglers to their shores.

Agriculture is the leading sector in the municipality's economy, with tourism and recreation also playing a significant role. Chmielno also offers plenty of attractions during the winter season: thanks to the local microclimate, the snow cover here is thicker and lasts longer than in the lower-lying regions of Kashubia, making it an excellent place for winter sports.

An interesting place from a historical and folkloric perspective is the Necel Museum of Kashubian Ceramics, where visitors can closely observe the work of a potter and even try their hand at creating clay vessels. It is also worth visiting the railway station in Miechucino, the parish church of Saints Peter and Paul from 1845, and the hillfort - the remains of a castellan stronghold from the 10th-13th centuries.

The municipality features a well-developed road and tourist infrastructure, including numerous public beaches, playgrounds, and accommodation facilities. The local authorities show great concern for environmental protection, which is evidenced by the extensive sewage network and a modern wastewater treatment plant.
