A town in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, located in Lębork County. It is situated on the Łeba River and its tributary, the Okalica, at the northern edge of the Kashubian Forest complex, in close proximity to Lake Lubowidzkie to the east. The town lies approximately 80 km west of Gdańsk.
The history of the town is closely intertwined with the history of Poland and Germany. Despite a turbulent past and numerous events that damaged its architectural fabric, several valuable and fascinating historical monuments have been preserved in Lębork. These include: St. James's Church from the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries, the remains of the 14th-century defensive city walls, the 14th-century Ivy Tower (Baszta Bluszczowa), the Teutonic Castle from the second half of the 14th century, the mill and the so-called Miller's House from the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries, the 16th-century salt granary, the Town Hall from 1900, the post office building from 1905, the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary Queen of the Polish Crown from the second half of the 19th century, a complex of burgher tenement houses from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, and the water tower from 1912.
