Located within the Kashubian Lake District, the municipality is one of the smaller municipalities in Kartuzy County. It is characterized by rich and diverse flora and fauna, making it a popular destination for tourists.

The village of Przodkowo - the capital of the municipality - is one of the largest in the county, and the entire municipality is very well connected to it. It is located 25 km from the center of Gdańsk and only 14 km from the international airport in Rębiechowo. The current name of the village, Przodkowo, was finally established in the 19th century, although records of the village itself appear in Teutonic Order sources as early as the 14th century.

Those who enjoy active recreation will certainly find many opportunities to spend their free time here. The municipality is home to many captivating lakes where one can relax. The largest among them include Lake Tuchomskie, Lake Głębokie, and Lake Tuchlińskie.

In the village of Tokary, there is a golf course where both beginners and experienced players can practice their skills. The beautiful Kashubian landscapes can be admired along several hiking and cycling trails running through the municipality. It is also highly recommended to visit the historic churches in Pomieczyno and Przodkowo.

A particularly poignant site that should be visited is the gravesite of the victims of the Stutthof concentration camp Death March in the village of Pomieczyno.
