The Sulęczyno Municipality stretches along the Słupia River valley. This forest-surrounded land is famous for its lakes, which provide an excellent recreational and holiday destination, especially for those seeking peace and quiet.
The Sulęczyno Municipality hides many places shrouded in a mysterious aura. One of them is the burial ground of the Goths from the 1st and 2nd centuries AD, located by Lake Długie in Węsiory, where you can also see ancient burial mounds and the famous stone circles.
While sightseeing, you should visit the Neo-Gothic church in Sulęczyno from 1874 and the 17th-century palace and manor complex, once the residence of the Heidenstein family (notably Reinhold Heidenstein, a lawyer and advisor to King Stefan Batory) and later the Łaszewski family, who also owned Sierakowice and Puzdrowo. Currently, this manor serves as a holiday and training center.
The municipality is famous for hosting musical cultural events. The most renowned is the "Jazz in the Forest" (Jazz w Lesie) Festival, held since 1996. This recurring outdoor event, taking place at the end of July, has for years attracted many Polish and foreign jazz artists. Besides this, the municipality also hosts the Sulęczyno Accordion Meetings and concerts from the "Rock w Rok Sulęczyno" series.
The "Mechowiska Sulęczyńskie" nature reserve is located within the Gowidlino Protected Landscape Area. Within its boundaries, peat bog communities (wetlands covered with marsh or marsh-meadow plants) have been preserved, as well as habitats for 228 plant species, 66 of which are under protection.
An interesting fact is the symbolism of the municipality's coat of arms, which refers to the diversity and richness of the area. It depicts a griffin's head on a shield colored yellow, green, and blue. Each of the colors has a symbolic meaning: yellow represents the sun, green - forests and hills, while blue symbolizes the lakes and rivers that abound in the Sulęczyno Municipality.
