The entire area of the Sztutowo Municipality lies within the Vistula Spit Landscape Park. Its natural borders are the Baltic Sea to the north, the Vistula Lagoon to the east, the Szkarpawa River to the south, and the Wisła Królewicka River to the southwest. Thanks to its coastal location, it boasts distinctive scenic and natural qualities that drive its development as a tourist and health resort destination. Sztutowo and Kąty Rybackie are characterized by clean, wide beaches, an abundance of water and coastal forests, as well as the largest cormorant reserve in Poland.
The municipality features a well-developed tourist infrastructure. Holidaymakers visiting the area can enjoy various forms of recreation and leisure. An important historical landmark is the international memorial site to the victims of Nazism - the Stutthof Museum, located on the grounds of the former concentration camp.
Sztutowo features, among other things, a seaport on the Vistula Lagoon in Kąty Rybackie. Moreover, it boasts excellent inland waterway connections thanks to a well-developed network of rivers and canals in the Vistula delta.
Due to its location near National Road No. 7 (Warsaw - Tricity), which provides easy connections to the Tricity, Elbląg, and Nowy Dwór Gdański, Sztutowo is an attractive place for business development. The residents of the municipality are largely engaged in services related to tourism, which is seasonal in nature, as well as agriculture and fishing.
The Sztutowo Municipality is continuously developing its technical infrastructure, such as landline telephony, a comprehensive sanitary sewage system, and a water supply network, which already covers the entire area. Currently planned investments include a strategy for supplying heat, gas fuels, and electricity utilizing renewable energy sources.
