This Vistula riverside municipality naturally borders the Vistula River to the east and surrounds the city of Tczew. Its location on the border of Eastern Pomerania, Starogard Pomerania, the Kashubian Lake District, and the Vistula Fenlands makes the area of the municipality extremely diverse.

The municipality is located in the immediate vicinity of three international road routes: the A1 motorway and national road No. 1, connecting the metropolis with the south of the country, and national road No. 22 (S 22) connecting the Kaliningrad Oblast with Elbląg, and leading further west to Berlin, passing through Gorzów Wielkopolski, among others. Railway lines also run through the area of the municipality in both northern and southern directions, and SKM trains operate here as well.

The transportation accessibility is greatly influenced by a well-developed bus transport network, which connects towns located in the region with the larger cities of the metropolis. The municipality can boast a well-developed technical infrastructure: water supply, sewage, gas, and telephone networks.

It is worth seeing the numerous historic religious sites in this area, such as the Holy Trinity Church in Lubiszewo, St. Margaret's Church in Miłobądz, as well as the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Turze. The manor and palace complex in Łukocin has also been very well preserved.

In addition to numerous monuments, the municipality offers rich recreational facilities. Bicycle and hiking trails are available. The Lower Vistula Trail (black) is about 480 km long and is the longest marked bicycle trail in Poland. It runs from Cierpice near Toruń through Bydgoszcz, Gruczno, Świecie, and Nowe to Gniew, then to Knybawa and along the right bank of the Vistula through Biała Góra, Kwidzyn, Grudziądz, and Chełmno to Bierzgłowski Castle near Toruń. Another trail, Tczew-Nowe (green), 98 km long, is currently being planned. The hiking trails include: the Kociewie Trail – yellow, about 80 kilometers long, leading from Tczew through Rokitki and Lubiszewo to Starogard Gdański. The main attractions of the trail are the largest cities of the Kociewie region it passes through, namely Tczew and Starogard Gdański, the Wierzyca and Wda rivers, and the most famous historical places located among interesting lakes. The Roman Klim Tczew Land Trail (green) leads from Tczew through Szpęgawo and Stanisławie to Lubiszewo. The route is composed in such a way that it passes through the most interesting towns of the Tczew region.
