Gdańsk University of Technology has launched the NATO DIANA Living Lab - a new centre for testing advanced defence and security technologies in near-real operational conditions, strengthening Gdańsk’s role as a key hub for NATO innovation.

The Forum gathered experts and local government representatives to discuss real digital transformation in public administration, showcasing practical solutions, workshops, and future initiatives such as the upcoming MBA Smart City programme in Gdańsk.

Gdańsk is strengthening its role on the European stage by bidding to host the European Space Agency’s Centre for Crisis Response, combining scientific heritage, advanced technology, and strategic investments to protect critical infrastructure and drive long-term development.

Gdańsk will establish the Baltic Sea Monitoring Center, uniting science and business to leverage continuous satellite surveillance for regional maritime security, environmental protection, and critical infrastructure monitoring in the Baltic Sea

A delegation from Gdańsk and the Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area carried out an economic mission to Belfast on April 17-18. Ten meetings with key institutions of Northern Ireland’s innovation ecosystem led to one sentence that was repeated in almost every conversation: “We are too small not to collaborate with each other.”

The University of Gdańsk has established an Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence Applications to integrate research, support innovation, and strengthen cooperation between academia and industry.
