New Shipwreck Centre set to boost tourism in Tczew

Tczew is set to build an innovative new Shipwreck Conservation Centre which, for the first time in Poland, will simultaneously function as both a museum storage/restoration solution and a visitor attraction. The cornerstone of the new National Maritime Museum facility was laid in November, and on completion it will be possible for the general public to see exhibitions of collections covering over 40 years of underwater archaeological work. If all goes to plan, the centre will open its doors in early 2016.

A new era beckons for a stronger Metropolitan Area association

The AGM of the Gdansk Metropolitan Area (GOM) was held on Monday February 23, at the European Solidarity Centre in Gdansk, during which there were elections to fill the various posts in the association. The meeting also marked a landmark moment as the association’s 50th member – the Municipality of Wladyslawowo - was officially accepted into the group plus there was also great news on discussions aimed at seeing Gdynia join an expanded association.
