A two-day visit by a delegation of politicians, local government officials, and entrepreneurs from Hamburg and the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein has just concluded. The guests arrived in Gdańsk on Monday, April 13, to set off on Tuesday, April 14, towards Lithuania and Latvia. The delegation was headed by the Mayor of Hamburg, Dr. Peter Tschentscher, and the Minister-President of the federal state, Daniel Günther. With their first joint foreign trip, both politicians wanted to show their commitment to close cooperation in the region of northern Germany and the Baltic Sea region of Europe.

By uniting under the "Single Metropolitan Gate" strategy, the rapidly expanding ports of Gdańsk and Gdynia are driving unprecedented economic growth and securing the region's future as a sustainable transport and energy hub in the Baltic Sea.

From 23 to 27 March 2026, the Medical University of Gdańsk hosted participants of Entrepreneurship Traineeship Week 2026; an intensive international programme focused on developing entrepreneurial competencies, delivered by the European university alliance ACE²-EU. Students from across Europe worked in interdisciplinary teams on real-life challenges related to healthcare innovation, sustainable development, and new technologies.
