Metropolitan Area Gdańsk Gdynia Sopot

It took 72 percent of people just one visit to their local city hall (Urzad Miasta) to resolve the reason for their visit according to research on the work of 30 local councils in the Gdansk Metropolitan Area.

The president of Gdansk Pawel Adamowicz has signed an agreement with research institutes that will prepare the Strategy for the Development of the Gdańsk Metropolitan Area (GOM) to 2030 under the name "INTIS - Integration and Synergy " The GOM strategy will cover as many as 69 local governments - including Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia.

14 teams from the counties of Gdansk, Bytów, Czluchowski, Kościerski, Kwidzyń, Lębork, Malbork, Puck, Slupsk, Starogard, Tczew, Wejherowo and the cities of Gdansk and Gdynia battled over two days at the PGE ARENA for title of champions of the 8th Przystanek Euro Youth Football Competition. At the end of the tournament the Pruszcz Gdansk team took the gold medal.

Several thousand cyclists will set off on Sunday morning in two pelotons - the first starting in Tczew, and the second in Wejherowo – and will meet in the afternoon at the Ergo Arena in Sopot. There, representatives of the Association of Integrated Territorial Investments will receive the "Golden Spoke", a prize awarded for the design of the bicycle path system for the Tri-City Metropolitan Area. This is all part of the 18th edition of the ‘Wielki Przejazd Rowerowy ‘ (Great Cycle Ride).

The Gdansk Metropolitan Area Association, which brings together 49 cities, towns, rural municipalities and districts, was honoured in the “Together for Development” contest awarded at the First Congress of Local Government Partnerships held recently in Poznan.

A model of a sixteenth century altarpiece is to be created in Pruszcz Gdansk thanks to the efforts of pupils from a local secondary or high school.
